So far genius hour is going well. The challenges that I've faced so far is that I had a hard time moving from researching to actually starting my book. I had a hard time with that because i didn't know what to write about. But I finally figured out what I want to write about. I'm going to write a story about a kid on Christmas. I wanted to write about Christmas because its my favorite holiday. I faced my challenges by reading other books and finally the idea came to my head.
There is a site that really helped me with different ideas that would make my book interesting and fun to read. http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/writing-childrens-books-for-dummies-cheat-sheet.html .I'm really looking forward to actually creating my book and drawing pictures and seeing what my end result would be. My next step is to get my supplies for my book and start creating my rough draft.

Genius Hour so far been going well. I'm going to write a children novel for my genius hour. Throughout the course the skills I want to gain is that I can write the best children novel. There was some challenges that faced for the longest time i didn't know what to write about .The crowd that I'm aiming for is kindergartens and preschoolers. My cousin is going to be my reference because she is a teacher and she knows what the kids like so therefore she could help me brainstorm ideas. I've seen different ideas and read different children novels, but the biggest help was this website.
http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Children's-Book , this website helped me a lot because there was different ideas and different ways that were shown to write a book. Hopefully at the end of this genius hour project I hope to have my children novel finished with really good detail. Does school kill Creativity? In my opinion it does. The older you get the more your creativity gets lost. When we were in elementary we were free and stress free. Also in elementary no one really cared about grades. Now that were in high school everything matters. Our parents only think about our grades and don't care about our creativity. We get more of an expectation in high school. Creativity gets lost because kids are always worried about not passing tests or to scared that there going to fail there grades. I feel that some teachers pressure us to much, and some teachers don't listen to other kids opinions.Teachers don't let us put our own thoughts and creativity in our projects or assignments. Instead give us a criteria and make guidelines on what we can or cannot put on our projects and assignments.
